FAQs

📌 Is Hoop Love Academy for beginners or kids just trying basketball out?

HLA is designed for athletes who already love the game and are committed to developing their craft. While we support beginner to intermediate athletes (5th grade and up) through structured sessions, we are not a recreational program for kids casually exploring the sport.

📌What’s expected of athletes who train at HLA?

Athletes are expected to bring focus, effort, and a willingness to be coached. We’re looking for players who are serious about basketball and open to learning—not just going through the motions.

📌My child is talented, but not very motivated. Will this help them fall in love with the game?

While our environment can inspire growth, HLA is best suited for athletes who already have internal drive. We don’t force passion—we fuel it. If a player isn't invested in their own improvement, this may not be the right fit.

📌 How do I know which training level is right for my child?

Proper placement is key to your child’s growth—and to maintaining the standard of our training environment. If you're unsure, we strongly recommend scheduling a consultation first before enrolling in any session, especially at the advanced level.

It’s important to note: Advanced sessions are for athletes who demonstrate consistent high-level performance, pace, and decision-making. If a player signs up for advanced but is better suited for beginner-intermediate, it can slow down the session and affect everyone’s experience.

To schedule a consultation or ask about placement, email info@hooploveacademy.com and we’ll help guide the process.

📌 What happens if my child misses a class during their monthly plan?

Missed classes are not credited, refunded, or carried over to the next month. Your monthly plan reserves your child’s spot for a set number of sessions, regardless of attendance. We encourage consistent participation to ensure steady growth and to maintain the integrity of our training environment.

📌 Can my child attend different class levels if I sign up for a plan?

No. Students must attend the class level they’re enrolled in to ensure consistent progress and appropriate challenge.

Please refer to our website for class schedules and level descriptions.

📌 How do I secure my child’s spot in a class?

You must register for each class through the PushPress platform to be included in a session.

📌 Are there limits on class sizes?

Yes, each class is capped at 8-10 students to ensure quality instruction and focused training.

📌 What happens if a class is full?

If you do not sign up in time, you will be added to the waitlist and notified if a spot becomes available.
